My Coffee is Dark

Beans washed by water that makes liquid gold

So noble, so bitter, it strikes with awe

Enjoyed by many, be them young or old

Who want to be good and commit no flaw

To, enjoying the warmth it gives, drink it

Alongside with good food, music, and folks

When down we’re feeling we wait for its hit

‘Cause nice things its presence always evokes

Some like tea better, I’m not here to fight

Voltaire, Beethoven, and others agree

That it stimulates you and takes you high

Waking your mind up so you can think free

No other drink has left such a good mark

As what I describe; it’s coffee, it’s dark
