VII

For you are far, far from my shores

Far from the heart and the lips and my soul

For you are far, far from my mouth

My abyss is growing inside like a sprout

I fear, I regret, knowing the person

Who you are today, who is mature and respectful

But the man of the past still haunts your existence

Tell him to keep calm, tell him to behave

But, thinking about it, I regret nothing

I’m in desperate need of your lips and your warm

Of cuddling, spooning, of kissing, just laying

Of loosing myself in your thoughts and emotions

I’ll end abruptly, ’cause I need to cry

Because thinking about you, of not being here

Makes me feel terrible, makes me fall in despair

But one day, my baby, we’ll cuddle again
